Allen: Chimaev getting into the top 10 middleweight? Political crap"

American UFC middleweight Brendan Allen commented on the transition Khamzata Chimaeva to his division.

“His fight with Usman was not a middleweight fight. They're both closer to welterweights, which is nonsense. Chimaev has yet to beat any middleweight, especially someone in the top ten rankings. He defeated one welterweight in the middleweight division. Great, congratulations. Moreover, everyone saw that in five rounds Usman would have gained the upper hand.

In the welterweight division, let Chimaev be at least on the first line. But his position in the middle division... This is political crap. Politics made the weather, not skills,” Allen was quoted as saying by MMA News.

Let us remind you that on October 21 at UFC 294, Chimaev was supposed to fight against former middleweight belt contender Paulo Costa, but the Brazilian dropped out due to health problems. As a result, Khamzat fought with former division champion Kamaru Usman, winning by majority decision.
