Poirier believes Oliveira can beat Makhachev under one condition

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier spoke about the chances Charles Oliveira in the upcoming title rematch against Islam Makhacheva.

“If Charles is focused, if he is the same fighter who fought me and Chandler, then he can beat Makhachev. However, I don't think Charles wanted to fight for the belt in October. It looked like he had deliberately flung himself out of the fight.

I think so. But I also know that he has the skills to beat the best fighters in the world. And he has demonstrated this many times already. To win against Makhachev, Charles simply needs to be collected,” the American is quoted as saying by MMA Junkie.

Let us remember that in October last year, Makhachev “strangled” Oliveira in the second round and became the undisputed champion of the division. Last month at UFC 294, the rivals were supposed to have a rematch, but the Brazilian received a cut and withdrew from the fight.
