Ennis: 'This is not the way we wanted to get the belt'

Newly crowned IBF world welterweight champion Jaron Ennis stated that he is extremely interested in holding a fight against the owner of the remaining titles in the division Terence Crawford.

Recently it became known that the International Boxing Federation (IBF) stripped Crawford of his title due to his inability to defend against Ennis, since Terence is obliged to give immediate rematch to Errol Spence.

“This is not the way we wanted to get the belt. We would have preferred to take him in a fight, that would have been better, but the IBF sticks to the rules, you know? It was out of my control,” Ennis said in an interview with YSM Sports Media.
