UFC CEO Dana White spoke at a press conference after UFC 295 about his conversation with the promotion's former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, who has not appeared in the Octagon since March 2021.
“Not long ago I had breakfast with Stipe, and he was very motivated for the fight with Jones. You see, he is the best heavyweight in history and he gets to fight the best fighter of all time. Naturally, the guys want to have such a fight. It must take place.
I asked Stipe if he would fight next? He replied: “Yes, I don’t know.” The only thing I care about right now is Jones,’” White said.
Let us remember that at the end of October Jones tore his pectoral muscle and withdrew from the fight against Miocic, who was supposed to headline the UFC 295 tournament. The American’s full recovery is expected to take six to eight months.
