The coach named Makhachev's possible next opponent

UFC lightweight champion coach Islam Makhacheva Javier Mendez said that with a high degree of probability his ward could meet with the former holder of the interim belt in his next fight Justin Gaethje.

“I think Islam would like to fight Gaethje. The UFC prefers to bet on who brings in the most money rather than who actually deserves the fight. So I think that in the end the one who brings in the most money will fight with Islam. That fighter could be Gaethje because they haven’t fought yet,” Mendes said in an interview with Unlocking The Cage.
