Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker spoke about the current state of affairs in the promotion's light heavyweight category.
“It’s funny how the light heavyweight title changes hands. First Prochazka dropped out, then Hill. Now we are in for an intriguing fight between Prochazka and Pereira. If it weren't for Jones' fight with Miocic, this fight would have become the main event of the tournament.
Jones looks like a daddy in the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions. He dominated the light heavyweight division and then moved up to heavyweight, saying something like, “Boys, you can fight for the belt.” He left the light heavyweight division in some chaos,” Whittaker said on the MMArcade podcast.
Let us remind you that Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira will compete for the vacant title in the light heavyweight division at the UFC 295 tournament, which will take place on November 11 in New York.
