Eddie Hearn, in an interview with Boxing Social, said that in recent days he has received offers from several countries to organize a fight between Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs) and Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs). The fight could take place in the first quarter of next year in one of the Middle East countries.
In recent months, the head of Matchroom Boxing has held talks on this matter only with investors from Saudi Arabia, which ultimately did not lead to anything concrete. Now the British promoter is looking in a different direction and is very optimistic about completing negotiations.
“Both sides want this fight. The fans want this fight and there are several countries that would like to host such a fight. We are negotiating, we are moving forward and we would like this fight to finally take place in February or March,” Hearn said.
Before then, both boxers will likely fight other opponents. Joshua is expected to return to the ring in December, while Wilder is preparing for a fight that will take place in November in the United States.
