Warren: "The winner of the Joyce-Zhilei fight will get a place at the very top"

Promoter Frank Warren commented on the upcoming rematch of the British heavyweight Joe Joyce (15-1, 14 KOs) and interim WBO champion Zhang Zhilei (25-1-1, 20 KOs).

“These are two great fighters with excellent amateur backgrounds, they both won silver medals at the Olympic Games. I've said several times that both guys were robbed, they should have been gold medalists. They did everything that was required of them as professionals.

In the battle that awaits them, everything is at stake. The winner will get the opportunity to fight for the world title. There is no doubt that this fighter will get a place at the very top,” Warren said in an interview with Pro Box TV.

In April of this year, Joyce lost to Zhilei ahead of schedule. The rematch will take place on September 23rd.
