Former world heavyweight champion Johnny Nelson expressed the opinion that the fight for the title of absolute champion in the heavyweight division between Tyson Fury And Alexander Usik will definitely not take place in the near future.
Nelson predicts that the “Gypsy King” will prefer a financially more attractive fight against Usik - with his compatriot Anthony Joshua, who is going through hard times, but is still popular.
“I’m going to kick myself now for my words because I’ve said many times that Fury would never fight Joshua. However, now is a great time to make this fight happen. I think that Anthony is now in a position where he is closer to a fight with Tyson than Usik. The Usyk-Fury rivalry is now further apart than ever.
I just doubt that Saudi investors have the money for this battle. I think the biggest fight in terms of pay-per-view is Fury vs. Joshua,” Nelson said in an interview with The First Bell Boxing Show.
