Michael Hunter (20-1-2, 14 KO) suffered his only defeat in the pro ring at the hands of Alexandra Usika (21-0, 14 KOs). After both moved up to heavyweight, the American is counting on a rematch, and even more so on a fight with Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs).
The American is still supposedly among the top of the heavyweight division, but due to the lack of a strong promoter, he holds vague exhibition fights and has fallen out of the limelight a little. He held his last official fight at the end of 2021. At the same time, Hunter, it seems, could easily outplay several other young guys.
“Usyk will give Fury a lot of problems, he just needs to figure out how to gain his opponent’s respect early in the fight, hit a few hard shots, gain respect and win the early rounds. Fury always had problems with smaller guys who were good on their feet. I hope to see their fight next year, but to be honest, I don’t really believe in it,” Hunter commented on the possible fight between Usik and Fury.
