UFC Bantamweight Champion Sean O'Malley expressed confidence that the victory by knockout in the upcoming fight with Marlon "Chito" Vera can open him a direct path to a cash boxing fight with the holder of a regular WBA belt in the lightweight division Gervonta Davis.

“Ideally, I will go out there and ... I should knock out Chito. I cannot win by decision or submission. I can't make this fight boring. Only then can I challenge Gervonte.

I know that such a statement will seem stupid to many, but I will go out and knock out Chito, after which my popularity will double. I will become a big star,” the American said on the Believe You Me podcast.

O'Malley and Vera are expected to fight on December 16 at UFC 296.
