Absolute world champion in the second featherweight Alicia Baumgardner (15-1, 7 KOs) was convicted of doping. This was reported by American journalist Dan Raphael. A positive result was given by a test carried out before the fight of an American with Christina Linardatu in July.

The fight, which had the IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO championship belts at stake, ended with Baumgardner's unanimous victory on points. The result of the duel is now likely to be annulled.

The US boxer is also likely to be stripped of her championship titles. The result of the pre-fight test was sent to the boxing teams on August 10.
