Former Interim UFC Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier shared his thoughts on the significance of the BMF (“Biggest Bastard”) belt that will be up for grabs in his upcoming rematch with Justin Gaethje.

Their fight will headline UFC 291, which will take place on the night of July 30 in Salt Lake City, USA.

“This is a battle for legacy. The BMF belt is a big part of the story and it will be great for my legacy. It's great that I have the opportunity to fight for this trophy, but the main prize is a full-fledged title. The time zone was just as much a part of history. Then I was one step away from becoming a world champion, and this is still my ultimate goal, ”Poirier said at a press conference before the tournament.
