Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) may not show the full super middleweight limit against Saul Alvarez (59-2-2, 39 KOs). At least that's what his coach Derrick James thinks. The contract of the younger brother Charlo was a kind of surprise. First, the Mexican had to meet with a heavier Jermall (32-0, 22 KOs), but in the end, Canelo settled on the undisputed light middleweight champion.
And therein lies the catch - Alvarez usually performs in super middleweight, that is, up to 76.2 kg, which is 6.35 kg more than the limit in which Iron Man fights. Derrick James is of the opinion that Jermell will not chase the full weight limit, but will bet on mobility.
“I don't believe that Jermell will come out so heavy. I think he will be 163, maybe 164 pounds (about 74 kg - ed. note). I want him to be fast, athletic and agile. The heavier you are, the slower you become. Jermell needs to be faster,” James said.
