WBO appointed Jose Carlos Ramirez (28-1, 18 KOs) and Arnold Barbosa (28-0, 10 KOs) by the participants in the fight for the vacant world title in super lightweight.
The organization of the fight could be stopped in the next 24 hours if Teofimo Lopez, who previously held the WBO lightweight world title, reverses his decision to retire from the sport or wants to leave the belt vacant and move up to a heavier division, getting the championship right now.
Barbosa last fought in February, defeating Jose Pedraza on points. Ramirez returned to the ring in March after a year-long hiatus.
