Francisco Valcarcel, President of the WBO, announced on social media that the World Boxing Organization will make a decision on the super middleweight championship belt next week.

Jermell Charlo is the owner of the WBO title in the weight category up to 69 kg and in the next professional fight he will meet with Saul Alvarez. The interim champion in this division and the mandatory opponent of the American is Tim Tszyu.

Charlo was supposed to fight the Australian in January, but he injured his right hand and was physically unable to compete for several months. After the fight with Canelo, which will take place in the super middleweight limit, the boxer from the USA will probably rest for the next few months.

In this situation, the WBO will probably deprive Charlo of one of the titles. The American is also the owner of the IBF, WBA and WBC welterweight belts, as well as the title of champion according to The Ring magazine.
