WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs) pulled out of the fight with Saul Alvarez (59-2-2, 39 KOs). As a result, a boxer from Mexico in the next professional fight will meet with Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs), the brother of his former potential rival. Jermall last boxed two years ago.
According to Dan Rafael, the boxer was going through psychological difficulties associated with divorce and the struggle for custody of his three children. Jermall recently revealed that he doesn't feel ready to fight Canelo in September after such a long hiatus and battling personal issues.
It is not yet known when the WBC champion in the weight category up to 72.5 kg will return to the ring. Alvarez, according to information provided by Rafael, will earn about $40 million for his next appearance in the ring. Canelo will face Jermell Charlo for four super middleweight titles on September 30 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
