Yesterday morning, Frank Warren announced on talkSPORT that Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) will return to the ring in September in a "revolutionary" fight.
When asked if the fight could be a boxing clash with one of the UFC champions John Jones or Francis Ngannou, Warren answered in the negative, but at the same time did not rule out such a scenario. A few hours later, in an interview with SecondsOut, the head of Queensberry Promotions said that the next fight for the WBC heavyweight champion would be a boxer, not an MMA fighter.
Such a statement seems really puzzling, because theoretically the entire top of the royal division already has plans for the coming months, and it is not yet clear with whom Fury will create a "revolutionary" show in September.
