Former World Lightweight Champion George Kambosos said that in case of victory in the upcoming fight against Maxi Hughes, he wants to enter the ring with Vasily Lomachenko.

“This is a great weight class, I love it. I am very proud to have been at the top of lightweight not so long ago. Our plan is to take down Maxie Hughes, make a statement and move on to the big names.

Lomachenko is a guy I've wanted to fight for a long time. I think that there is a point in our duel in a large stadium. Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson - all these guys have great, big names. They are current and former champions. This is what I want to fight the best of the best, elite fighters. The fans should respect that.

Our fight with Lomachenko in Greece would be huge. There are many big fights. And eventually I will rise above. If there is an opportunity in the light welterweight division, we will take it,” Kambosos said in an interview with the Little Giant Boxing YouTube channel.

Recall that Kambosos and Hughes will fight on July 22 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, USA.
