Wilder coach: We made a great offer to Ruiz

Trainer Deontay Wilder Malik Scott stated that they sent an official proposal Andy Ruiz about the next fight: "The ball is now on your side, let's all sign and agree on everything."

Wilder returned to the ring last October for the first time since two losses to Tyson Fury when he knocked out Finnish heavyweight Robert Helenius in the very first round with his signature right hand.

Following this victory, the WBC officially committed the Bronze Bomber to face Andy Ruiz Jr. as the final eliminator for the green and gold belt currently held by the Gypsy King. Negotiations dragged on, and then seemed to have completely died down, and hopes for a duel among the fans faded.

However, Scott, who began training Wilder after Fury's second fight, claimed on social media that an offer had been sent to Destroyer and that the ball was now "in his side."

Recently, Ruiz has also not been particularly active in the ring: his last fight took place 10 months ago and ended in a close decision victory over Cuban Luis Ortiz.

Wilder is on a big gamble if he really decides to face one of the top title contenders ahead of a proposed fight with Anthony Joshua later in the year.

The Saudi Arabian promoters have made no secret of the fact that in December they plan to hold a heavyweight mega-tournament that will feature not only Wilder and AJ, but also an undisputed title fight between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

The fight with Joshua will undoubtedly be the biggest payday of Wilder's career, so it remains to be seen whether his desire to fight former champion Ruiz should be taken seriously.
