Former Double UFC Champion Henry Cejudo fought with Marlon Vera at the upcoming UFC 292 scheduled for August 19 in Boston. This was announced by promotion president Dana White on ESPN.
After a three-year retirement, the 36-year-old Cejudo returned to the octagon in May, but failed in his attempt to regain the bantamweight title, losing a split decision to Aljamain Sterling. After the fight, Henry made it clear that he wanted to redeem himself for this defeat as soon as possible.
For 30-year-old Vera, this fight will be the first since losing a decision to Cory Sandhagen in March, which ended his four-fight winning streak. Prior to this setback, he had defeated fighters like Dominic Cruz, Rob Font and Frankie Edgar, constantly moving up the bantamweight rankings.
