In the main event of the evening in Stockton, California, Zhanibek Alimkhanuly (14-0, 9 KOs) knocked out in the second round Stephen Butler (32-4-1, 26 KOs). Thus, the southpaw from Kazakhstan defended his WBO middleweight title.

The Canadian hit the floor three times in the second round. Alimkhanuly successfully delivered left punches to the target, which turned out to be too fast for Butler. After the first two knockdowns, the boxer from Canada quickly got up, but after the third fall, the referee did not even open the score.

On the same evening Jason Moloney (26-2, 19 KOs) won Vincent Astrolabio (18-4, 13 KOs) by split decision and won the vacant WBO bantamweight belt. After twelve rounds, the judges scored the meeting with a score of 116-112, 115-113 and 114-114.
