Haye: Joshua should fight Whyte before Wilder

Promoter Eddie Hearn wants a low-risk summer fight so he doesn't miss out on potentially huge Middle Eastern cash, but Haymaker sees things differently.

"Risk? If Joshua gets in trouble with White, why does he think he can beat Wilder? If he believes he can beat Wilder, let him fight White in the summer. This is a great fight for the fans, much more intense and interesting than the fight against Franklin. Because meeting Franklin was a bit like sparring. The first fight between Joshua and White was really good, that's what boxing is. If you're afraid of White, then you shouldn't date Wilder," Haye said.

In another interview, the former heavyweight king and WBA heavyweight champion admitted that the Bronze Bomber would be his favorite in a possible December fight.

“Wilder was best handled by Luis Ortiz and Tyson Fury. These two dragged him into an open fight. You have to put pressure on Wilder, you have to put pressure on him, and Joshua doesn't do that in the ring anymore," Haye added.
