Former World Light Heavyweight Champion Alexander Gvozdyk spoke about the war between Ukraine and Russia.
“For I really believed that the Russians were our brothers. Yes, it all started back in 2014 and continues. I know these are political moments, but these days it's more politics. Now there is enmity between these two nations. I don’t know what will happen in the future, but at least in the next 50 years there will be enmity, because Ukrainians will never forgive this. Perhaps this is politics, but it was done by the hands of Russians on our territory. They can say whatever they want, that they are fighting the Nazis. Where do they see the Nazis? I have been speaking Russian all my life. I lived in Kharkov and traveled around Ukraine, traveled to the western regions, spoke Russian. Then in these regions, most people spoke ... Now, of course, because of this situation, even I try to speak Ukrainian, although I do not speak it very well. But I'm trying. Previously, if you came to Lviv and spoke Russian to the person behind the counter, then you were answered in Russian, even if this person speaks Ukrainian. Many Russians came to my country, now they say they are releasing us. Yes, they are liberating us from us, they just want to take our territories for themselves. Here's the truth. Naturally, Russian propaganda has been working for more than 20 years, and they make people believe in what they are doing. But what should we do about it? They just come and kill us. It has never been a problem for Russians to come to Ukraine. There were many cars with Russian license plates. And no one blew them up. And now some Nazis or nationalists suddenly appeared, where are they? What nonsense is this?
