The Ring magazine reports that Terence Crawford (38-0, 29 KOs) and Errol Spence Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) are close to an agreement on a welterweight unification bout. The fight for the IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC belts may take place on July 22 in the USA.
Negotiations on this issue have been going on for a long time. Until recently, Spence was scheduled to take on Keith Thurman at welterweight in the spring, while Crawford would defend his WBO belt against mandatory contender Alexis Rocha.
Ring information indicates that the July date is almost certain, but American journalist Dan Rafael, in turn, states that an agreement is close, but not yet reached.
