A few weeks ago it was reported that George Kambosos (20-2, 10 KOs) will face Maxi Hughes (26-5-2, 5 KOs) after losing his lightweight belts and two losses to Devin Haney. At the time of the announcement of this meeting in March, it seemed that the fight would take place in Australia. Ultimately, however, the gentlemen will cross their gloves in Las Vegas on July 29th.

Whether this fight will be the main event of the evening or just part of a much larger tournament remains to be seen. At stake will be the secondary IBO belt.

“Not only will I win, I will beat him hard and in the end I will knock him out. There is a huge class gap between us. And as soon as I win, I will be in line to fight for the IBF belt, ”Kambosos said.
