UFC President Dana White announced during an Instagram Live on Thursday that the former middleweight contenders Marvin Vettori And Jared Cannonier will headline UFC on ESPN 46 scheduled for June 17 in Las Vegas.
The 39-year-old Cannonier (16-6) will take part in his third straight main event, the last of which he won by a split decision against Sean Strickland. Prior to this, the American veteran was defeated on points in a title fight with Israel Adesanya.
29-year-old Vettori (19-6-1) has alternated victories and defeats after a failed attempt to take the belt from the aforementioned Adesanya. In March, the Italian managed to stop in a series of four fights Roman Dolidze, winning by unanimous decision.
