Joshua returned to the ring earlier this month with a unanimous decision win over Jermaine Franklin. The Briton was set to fight in the summer but recently announced on social media that he would not be back until December.
"I do not know the answer to this question. The other side talked a lot about wanting to contact us after the fight with Franklin; we didn’t hear anything, didn’t have any contact, so there’s nothing to discuss here. They made it clear before the fight with Franklin that they want this fight in the summer. They thought there would be such an opportunity. But so far I have not spoken to anyone about this. Ask them,” said George Warren in an interview with Sky Sports.
Another potential opponent for Fury is Olympic silver medalist Joe Joyce, who is returning this coming Saturday against Zhang Zhilei. If Joyce wins in a landslide, he could be Fury's next opponent, as both are under contract with Queensberry.
“Joe hopes to show good and destructive boxing like he did against Parker and continue on his way up. If Joyce goes through this tough fight well, he will start negotiations with Fury," Warren added.
