David Price in an interview with ID Boxing admitted that at the beginning of his professional career he knocked out a young Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs).
“It was about my sixth fight, and he was already a two-time English amateur champion,” said the Liverpool giant. “I went to Sheffield then, because I was preparing for the first ten rounds, and I had problems with sparring.”
“I just hit him hard with my right hand and he fell. He had to be helped, and he was removed from the ring. At the time, it didn’t matter much to me, and I wasn’t ashamed that something like this happens when I hit well, ”said the Briton, known both for his powerful blow and his weak jaw.
Anthony Joshua, who a few years after sparring with Price won three championship belts of the royal division, this Saturday in London will fight with Jermain Franklin (21-1, 14 KOs).
