Still current WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs) appeared on Friday at the weigh-in before the fight between Benavidez and Plant and spoke about the fight between Gervonta Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) and Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs).

There is less than a month left before the battle of two young lightweight stars, and the bookmakers see "Tank" from Baltimore as the favorite of this intriguing confrontation. The eldest of the Charlo brothers thinks the same, although he intends to root for Garcia. He also sees one of the options for the outcome of the meeting as an early loss to Davis.

"I'm for Ryan. I'm also tall and thin, plus I'm always rooting for underdogs, and Ryan is definitely doomed to lose this fight. I just love outsiders. It has nothing to do with Ryan personally, race or blacks. I don't care about any of these aspects, it has nothing to do with it. I just love outsiders."

“I think this is where Ryan can get his chance to do what he needs to do. Will he beat Davis? No, but who will I keep my fingers crossed for? For Ryan. Does this make sense? Spit! Who cares?"

“I think Ryan can turn this to his advantage. Is that a pretty confident statement? I think he can do it. It may even come out by accident. Remember how Danny Garcia knocked out Eric Morales? He just closed his eyes and threw a left hook that hit right on target. Here's what will happen. Why not?" Charlo concluded.
