Alvarez and Ryder meet at debut press conference

Duel Saul Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs) and John Ryder (32-5, 18 KOs) on May 6 at Akron Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico, was officially confirmed. More than 50,000 spectators will be able to watch this fight live.

Previously, it was assumed that the fight could take place in London or the United States. In the end, Canelo decided to fight for the first time in over a decade in front of a home audience.

Alvarez's IBF, WBO, WBA and WBC super middleweight titles will be at stake in the meeting. Ryder, who defeated Zach Parker in his last fight, is the interim World Boxing Organization champion and will fight Alvarez as the official contender for the full WBO title.

The event in the United States will be shown on the DAZN platform in a paid broadcast. Canelo has two professional fights scheduled this year. In September, a boxer from Mexico should have a rematch with Dmitry Bivol.
