Mayweather is the eighth highest paid athlete in history

The Sportico website has published a ranking of the highest paid athletes in the history of sports, summing up their earnings throughout their careers and adjusting them taking into account inflation data for these years.

The leader of the rating was the legendary basketball player Michael Jordan with a total income of $3.3 billion. MJ surpassed Tiger Woods (golf, $2.5 billion) and Arnold Palmer (golf, $1.7 billion).

The list includes eight boxers: 8. Floyd Mayweather Jr (1.4 billion), 16. Mike Tyson (875 million), 21. Manny Pacquiao (725 million), 24. George Foreman (680 million), 27. Oscar De La Hoya. (665 million), 38. Evander Holyfield (600 million), 48. Saul Alvarez (525 million).
