According to the Daily Mail, Conor Benn (21-0, 14 KOs) intends to sue the British Boxing Commission (BBBofC), which stripped him of his boxing license due to two positive doping tests ahead of the eventually canceled fight with Chris Eubank Jr..
The Englishman is reportedly seeking £3.5m in damages to cover, among other things, the lost fee for the missed fight plus reputational damages.
Tests that Benn underwent a few months ago showed twice the presence of the banned clomiphene in his system. A few days ago, the WBC, after reviewing the case of the Briton, came to the conclusion that there is no evidence that he knowingly took the prohibited drug, and the results of anti-doping tests may be positive, because the boxer ate a lot of eggs. However, the BBBofC continues to conduct its own separate investigation, and the position of the WBC does not seem to influence its outcome.
