Ruiz pulls out of IBF eliminator with Hrgovic

Boxing fans are unlikely to see the fight Philip Hrgovic (15-0, 12 KOs) vs. Andy Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs) for the "interim" IBF heavyweight belt in the near future. Potential promotions for this fight have been canceled as Ruiz's team has refused to negotiate further.

Earlier, the IBF said it had approved a 60-40 split in favor of Hrgovic in future promotional bidding. Hrgovic remains the mandatory contender for this version and is likely to fight an interim bout this summer in anticipation of meeting title holder Oleksandr Usyk, who is in talks to unify the titles with Tyson Fury.
