Derrick James wants to help Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) to regain the world heavyweight title, which could mean fighting the best in that weight, and not necessarily on his terms. Now the ward of the American coach is eager to fight with Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs), when AJ was the champion, there was no talk of these confrontations.

“Today I am just a championship contender, and this is a tangible change. I have nothing to lose, nothing to defend, so I approach everything differently than when I was a champion. So I'm in the same position as Jermain Franklin. I have to forget about the defeats from Usyk and look to the future,” says Joshua.

“Wilder and Fury are different fighters. Wilder is an athlete, he is very dynamic and hits hard. Fury, in turn, has higher boxing and technical skills. Anthony Joshua has both,” says Derrick James, pleased with the first weeks of cooperation with AJ.

Joshua will return to the ring on April 1st in London. His opponent will be the already mentioned Jermain Franklin (21-1, 14 KOs).
