"He's a good fighter," Perot said in an interview with BoxingScene.com about the Ukrainian. - He hasn't lost yet. And I look forward to using this fight as a stepping stone to keep moving forward and achieve even bigger goals in the future.”

The Wychrist fight will be Perot's first performance in front of an American audience, an opportunity the 30-year-old prospect doesn't want to miss.

“I came here to do all the work,” Perot added, “and to show why they believed me and gave me this chance. I want to put on a show for boxing fans and prove that I can outshine everyone."

For American boxing fans, the 30-year-old Vykhrist (11-0, 7 KOs) became known primarily for his incredible fight against Iago Kiladze in January 2022, when he was able to send the opponent to the floor twice in the first round and himself was on the floor in that in the first and second rounds, in order to eventually stop Kiladze in the second three-minute period.

“It was such a crazy fight that I couldn’t really come to a conclusion and understand what happened,” Perot said. “I think the referee was a little hasty when he stopped the fight, but it was so unusual that I can only say that each fight can turn out differently. My fight with Vykhrist will definitely be different from what we saw with Kiladze.”

Pero (8-0, 5 KOs) won an eight-round unanimous decision over his compatriot Giovani Bruzon, who had not been defeated before, on the same evening as Vykhrist-Kiladze, and the Cuban believes that the victory over the Ukrainian will demonstrate his readiness for more important rivals.

“I actually faced a lot of strong fighters in my division when I was an amateur,” said Perot, who lost to Filip Hrgovic at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. — All I would like to say is that my team and I are very happy with the way things are going in my career. I'm ready to fight anyone. I don't have any preferences. Offer me anyone, and I'll be ready."
