Beterbiev stopped Yard in the eighth round

Arthur Beterbiev (19-0, 19 KOs) won an early victory in the eighth round over Anthony Yardom (23-3, 22 KOs) and defended his WBC, IBF and WBO light heavyweight titles in the main event of the evening at the OVO Arena in London. The fight took place in a stubborn and spectacular war, until in the eighth round Yard was on the floor from a missed right to the head. Yard rose but was visibly shaken, and the Briton's corner signaled the referee to stop the fight at 2:01.
