Riakpore defeated Głowacki ahead of time

Unbeaten British cruiserweight contender Richard Riakpore (16-0, 12 KOs) scored an early victory in the fourth round over the former world champion Krzysztof Głowacki (32-4, 20 KOs) as part of a boxing evening in Manchester. In the second round, Riakpora managed to noticeably shake the Pole with a right hand, but he was able to stand on his feet, although it seemed that at some point he touched the floor with his glove. In the fourth round, Glovatsky missed the left on the body, which he clearly felt and retreated into the corner under the blows. Riakpore delivered an unanswered, though not the most devastating streak, which was enough, in the opinion of referee Howard Foster, to stop the match at 2:44.

After the fight, Riakpore challenged the champions in his weight category: Ilunga Makaba, Lawrence Okoli and Arsen Gulamiryan.
