Shakur Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs) is going to make his debut in lightweight and is already talking about possible confrontations in the super lightweight category. Another young American is a former world featherweight and super featherweight champion.

At the start of his 61.2kg campaign, his opponent should be Shuichiro Yoshino (16-0, 12 KOs). The fight is scheduled for April 8th. The WBC recognizes him as the official eliminator for the world lightweight title. However, Stevenson does not rule out a potential fight in the future with Josh Taylor (19-0, 13 KOs), the WBO super lightweight champion.

“Of course I would like to face Taylor because I know I can beat him. I gain weight all the time, but so far my category is light weight. There is a time for everything,” Stevenson said.
