30-year-old boxer from Zagreb Filip Hrgovic criticized the former holder of the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles Anthony Joshuawhom he once greatly respected. However, after two consecutive losses Oleksandr Usyk Joshua's reign at the top of the heavyweight division came to an end.

According to Hrgovic, Joshua should not have decided to box against Usyk, instead of putting up a tough fight in the ring, and in vain parted ways with his longtime trainer of many years. Due to a combination of lack of aggression and propensity to gain new knowledge, Hrgovic is convinced that Joshua has simply lost his way.

“I try not to learn too much and not become what I am not. I don’t want to deprive myself of my advantages,” Hrgovic said in an interview with Tru School Sports. “I think this is exactly what happened to Anthony Joshua. He was a beast, a tough fighter. He was a knockout master and then he started learning too much about boxing and he started acting too cautious, thinking too much in the ring."
