Makabu vs Gevor WBC title fight canceled

On January 21, a fight was scheduled for the WBC world heavyweight title between its owner Ilungoy Makabu (29-2, 25 KOs) and Noel Gevor (26-2, 11 KOs), who a few weeks ago was appointed as the official challenger by the World Boxing Council. The fight was supposed to be the main event of the evening organized by Don King in Miami, but Makabu said that he did not prepare for this fight, because no one discussed the conditions for such a fight with him.

King wants to spend a night of boxing in Miami, and former world heavyweight champion Bermain Stivern (25-5-1, 21 KOs) will lead it. Inactive for two years, the 44-year-old will face Jonathan Guidry (18-1-2, 11 KOs).
