Former World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua talked about his defeat in a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
“This year I lost the fight, because of which I fell out of the title race. When you constantly fight for titles, you are in the race for a very long time. When I lost, I finally dropped out of the race. Overcoming this was a new beginning. I was in the title race for seven years, and then I finally realized that this is no longer my norm. Yes, it's hard to deal with it.
The spirit of competition has always lived in me, for me a challenge is just another obstacle that I can overcome. It seems to me that some people are easier to knock down and keep down, but as an athlete you just look at everything as another challenge that you can handle. You have to work, and being in this race, I'm used to a competitive attitude, but I'm sure I can handle it," Joshua told Metro.
Recall that on August 20, Joshua lost to Usyk in a rematch by a split decision of the judges (113-115, 115-113, 116-112).
