Manuel Charr (34-4, 20 KOs) had an almost unnoticed duel. The former WBA world heavyweight champion, that is, the owner of the WBA regular champion belt, entered the ring on Wednesday evening in Hamburg.
A Syrian with a German passport was supposed to meet with Lucas Brown (31-3, 27 KOs) in Dubai on Saturday, but a few dozen hours before the start of the event, it was announced that he was cancelled. Charr did not want to waste the training camp and decided with the promoters that he would try to box somewhere.
As a result, the experienced Nuri Seferi (42-11, 24 KOs) came out against him. The fight ended at the end of the second round with Charr's victory by technical knockout. Recall that Charr's track record also includes a victory on points over Sefer Seferi, Nuri's younger brother.
“When my fight with Brown was cancelled, I called my promoter Erol Ceylan. He told me: "Hurry up, get on the plane, I'll arrange a fight for you here." I didn’t even care who I would fight, I just didn’t want all my preparation to go to waste, ”Charr said after the fight.
