Former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker reacted to the news that his duel with Paulo Costa, which was supposed to take place on February 12 at UFC 284 in Perth, Australia, has been cancelled.
“It’s very unpleasant for me to talk about this, but the rumors turned out to be true. The fight with Kosta has been cancelled. The UFC did everything they could to get him to fight. As far as I understood, he was offered a new agreement so that he agreed to fight me, but he still did not accept the fight. The promotion wants to reschedule my performance to March or April," Whittaker wrote on social media.
Recall that Whittaker had his last fight in September, confidently defeating Marvin Vettori by unanimous decision.
