Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) is currently busy choosing a new coach. After just one fight, he broke up with Robert Garcia and is looking for other options. Experienced American coach James "Buddy" McGirt advises the Englishman to return to the roots and the old coach.

It was Rob McCracken who shaped AJ as a boxer. But after the first fight with Usyk, that is, the second defeat in his career (previously with Andy Ruiz, ed.), Joshua made a bet on changes. Some say that he looked better in the rematch with Usyk, but this was still not enough to defeat the Ukrainian.

At the moment, Anthony is traveling through American gyms in search of a new coach. Among others, he visited BJ Flores, Virgil Hunter and Derrick James. "Buddy" McGirt, who has recently been working in the corner of Dillian Whyte (29-3, 19 KOs), advises the former two-time heavyweight champion to return to McCracken.

“In my opinion, Joshua should return home to those who know him well and with whom he began his path to the championship. These people know him better than anyone else. Nobody is going to change him as a boxer overnight, it takes a long time, so he has to work with those who know him best," McGirt said.

“If Joshua wants to change coaches, it's definitely not for another big fight. If he hires someone new and settles for a smaller caliber fight, then okay, that makes sense. You don't hire a new trainer for big fights. Then such an athlete has an excuse, and he blames the new coach for everything. In the relationship between an athlete and a coach, the relationship between them is extremely important. That's why I would advise Joshua to go back to McCracken," added "Buddy" McGirt.
