Leo Santa Cruz (38-2-1, 19 KOs) has finally decided to vacate his WBA featherweight title. The Mexican thus made it clear that he was not going to fight against Lee Wood (26-2, 16 KOs).

For the World Boxing Association championship belt in this division, Wood now has to fight Mauricio Lara (25-2-1, 18 KOs). The fight may take place in February in the UK.

In February, Santa Cruz should return to the ring after a year and a half break. It is not yet known what the future sports plans of the former champion of four weight categories per weight category are and who will become his next opponent.
