Frank Warren praised Derek Chisoru (33-13, 23 KOs) for his desperate performance in Saturday's match against Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) for the WBC heavyweight belt. Chisora missed strong blows from the "Gypsy King" for almost all ten rounds until, finally, the referee decided to stop the fight.
"Even though Tyson won a landslide victory, I'm sure Anthony Joshua, had he accepted the challenge, would have ended the same way," said the promoter of the WBC heavyweight champion.
“Derek fared better than Dillian Whyte in April and he definitely took more hits than Deontay Wilder,” added Warren, who sees Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) as his charge’s next opponent.
