Top Rank representatives working with both boxers confirmed that negotiations have begun for a fight between Vasily Lomachenko (17-2, 10 KOs) and Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs).
The American signed a contract with Bob Arum for several fights. All this in order to unify all four lightweight belts that he then defended. In turn, Lomachenko was associated with Top Rank from the very beginning of his professional career, and on the last Saturday of October he returned to the ring after a long break and defeated Jamaine Ortiz with some problems.
“Lomachenko is a great boxer, but we saw what happened in his fight with the bigger Teofimo Lopez. And my son looks like he weighs fifteen pounds more than Lomachenko. Let's get this fight going, we're open to it," says Bill Haney, father and coach of the current undisputed 61.2kg champion.
