WBC wants to mark the "dueling of the eyes" at the weigh-ins

The potential waiver of the eye-to-eye matchup at the official weigh-in will be discussed at the WBC convention this year. The first recommendations of the World Boxing Council on this matter may be developed in the coming days.

“This is definitely a problem, because such situations often lead to the release of bad emotions. This is contrary to the ethical code and values ​​that the WBC represents,” said Mauricio Sulaiman, President of the WBC.

“Boxing is not about pumping up negative emotions and hostility towards each other. We want to continue our path of fair play, so we ask all promoters, managers, coaches and boxers to respect each other," Suleiman added.

Possible WBC recommendations in this matter are primarily related to championship fights and qualifying fights sanctioned by an organization run by Suleiman.
