Former world champion in three weight classes Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) in an interview with Fight Hub TV told what he did in the early days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and also about whether it makes sense to talk to the Russians and Vladimir Putin about ending the war.

“I did not take part in active [military] actions. I took part as a territorial defense in patrolling and controlling order in the city," Lomachenko said.

“Do I have an appeal for the Russians and Putin? I've already been asked this question. I do not see the point. At the very beginning of the war, a lot of stars and people turned to the Russians, and to Putin, and to those people who came to our country with the war, but, as we see, nothing has changed, ”added Lomachenko.

“I don’t want to be a talking head that just shakes the air and says that Putin is like this, Putin is like that, Russians are like that. It won't change anything, everyone knows that very well. I know that there are many people in Russia who are against what is happening, against the fact that we are fighting against each other. As we can see, no one can influence the commander-in-chief from the other side," Lomachenko said.
